Using the Asset Manager
in Dreamweaver
Web pages are more than just text and code - they're also colors, images,
movies and URLs. The Asset panel in Dreamweaver lets you easily manage
these elements, giving you greater flexibility and making your development
activities more efficient.
Web pages are not just made out of text and code. You add images, movies, colors, and URLs to your pages. These Web page elements are called assets. The Asset panel in Dreamweaver organizes these elements, enabling you to quickly find the image or color that you want to use.
The Asset panel also allows you to preview assets. Even better, you can create a list of favorite assets, ones that you use often. This speeds up development by giving you shortcuts and is especially helpful for often-used images and colors. The Asset panel includes several categories:
Dreamweaver automatically catalogs the assets for your entire site. All of you who have been in my Dreamweaver classes know how important it is to define a site. Assets are specific to the current site that you are working in. Note that templates and library items are included in the Asset Panel. This is a change from older versions of Dreamweaver.
